2 Ways to Find a Good Date and Even True Love! PDF Print E-mail

Some of us become so lazy that we start embracing self-annihilating theories such as 'if it's meant to be, he/she will find me'; how on Earth can anybody find you if all you do is watch TV at home alone or surround yourself with a wall of friends (worse still, relatives!) so that nobody can ever find the courage to come and approach you? You need to change your strategy right now!

Let the word out. These days there are a million ways to 'advertise' to the world that you are single. You could have your own web page stating that you are single (even just in a casual way), especially if you use it for work; you place a personal ad in a place like Craigslist (but you need to filter people out before you welcome the world into your life so you need to very specific about the type of person you are looking for and make sure they don't think you are looking for casual dating) or even the local paper, or anything similar. If you have a page on Facebook or similar that's fine but it's no use if nobody is going to that page, so you need to find ways to direct people to your personal page. You must not put your address or number or even your private email address; these online media allow you to have 'hidden' mail forwarding so that you can communicate with strangers without giving out your personal email address. Or, just create a 'public' email address you don't mind giving out.

If you try online dating, be really specific about who you are and the person you are looking for. It'll save you lots of time and maximise your chances of finding the one!

Look outside your usual parameters. If all you do is go for tall dark and handsome (or tall slim and brunette) you may want to venture out. You'll be surprised how exciting it is to find yourself interested to someone different from the same old category we fall for. The same can be said for where you are looking. Although you need to frequent places which are most likely to be frequented by those you would like to meet (in terms of personality and life style), you need to start questioning yourself as to what type of person would truly make you happy. Then, venture out to new places and new ways. Do the opposite of what you are usually doing. Experiment with places and different 'types' of people. You will be pleasantly surprised.
